How to apply for a Permanent Emigration (PE) withdrawal?

If you’ve moved permanently to a country other than Australia, you may be able to withdraw your KiwiSaver savings after you’ve lived overseas for at least 12 months.

How to apply

Complete the Generate Permanent Emigration Form (including the Statutory Declaration) and send it to us with:

• Certified copy of your ID

• Proof of bank account

• Proof of overseas residential address

• Proof of departure (e.g. travel documents)

• What you can withdraw

If approved, you can withdraw all your savings except:

• Government contributions (these are returned to Inland Revenue), and

• Any Aussie Super funds previously transferred — these stay in your KiwiSaver account until you’re eligible to withdraw them, usually at age 60.

• Please allow at least 15 business days for processing.
