Do I still get the Government contribution if I live overseas?

No. You must mainly live in New Zealand to be eligible for the annual Government contribution (formerly the Member Tax Credit). The only exception is if you’re working overseas for the New Zealand Government or on certain recognised volunteer/service placements.
