Generate takes the #LiveOceanDip for World Ocean Day

On June 8th, members of the Generate team took part in the annual #LiveOceanDip to celebrate World Ocean Day and raise awareness for ocean conservation.

As proud supporters of the Live Ocean Foundation, Generate pledged $500 for every team member who took the plunge - so, despite some piercing water temperatures (8 degrees in Dunedin!), the team were "happy" to take the plunge for such a good cause.

Our Auckland-based team were excited to join Live Ocean founders, Blair Tuke and Peter Burling, (and some of their other partners) at Milford Beach for a refreshing start to the day.

And some Generate advisers outside of Auckland took a dip in their local body of natural water (lakes absolutely acceptable, and probably much colder!) too, with team members in Kaukapakapa, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, Christchurch, Central Otago, and even Dunedin taking part in the challenge.

In total 37 team members took the dip, and Generate rounded up the donation for Live Ocean to $20,000.

This was our third year taking part in the Live Ocean Dip, and we “look forward” to doing it all over again next year for the Live Ocean Foundation. After all, our ocean covers over 70% of earth and it's our greatest ally in the fight for a healthy planet. To have a healthy future we need a healthy ocean.
