Welcome to the April edition of the Generate Member Newsletter. The month of March initially saw extreme volatility and global equities tumble with the MSCI World Index (in local currency) being down more than 6% at one stage. But as fear subsided from the market, equities came roaring back, rallying more than 9% from their lows to close the month up almost 3%. More on this later. In an exciting development last month, Generate’s sponsorship of Today FM got underway. Today FM is a brand new news and talk radio station with the goal of providing a balanced view on the issues New Zealanders are interested in. Tune in on Monday and Wednesday mornings with Tova O’Brien, and Wednesday evenings with Lloyd Burr to hear Generate’s experts discuss all things KiwiSaver. Finally - we will be expanding our range of KiwiSaver (and non-KiwiSaver) managed funds in May. This will allow us to cater to more precise levels of risk appetite.
